Rob Abbott, CEO of Abbott Strategies, is one of Canada’s leading sustainability strategists.  He works with senior executives and their teams across a wide range of industries, including electric utilities, mining, oil and gas, manufacturing, renewable energy, and technology.  He is also a trusted advisor to government agencies, NGOs, and academia.  Rob is a frequent commentator on sustainability and green economy issues on radio, TV, and in the press, and he speaks around the world to audiences of all sizes on sustainability and competitive strategy.

In his client work and research, Rob explores the relationship between sustainability and competitive strategy.  In particular, he helps organizations discover wealth-creating opportunities through a deeper integration of sustainability and strategy.  His interest and emphasis is on transformational rather than transactional change.

Rob completed undergraduate work in geography at the University of Victoria, and Masters Degrees in geography and environmental studies at the University of Toronto, before undertaking Doctoral studies in resource and environmental management at Simon Fraser University.  He is a certified management consultant, a former sustainability practice leader with Deloitte and Touche, and the author of Conscious Endeavors: Essays on Business, Society and the Journey to Sustainability (2009); and Uncommon Cents: Thoreau and the Nature of Business (2008).  He divides his time between the Prairies and the Coast of western Canada.

François Bregha

A co-founder of Stratos, François Bregha is an experienced analyst, writer, evaluator, facilitator, project manager and trainer who brings over 30 years' experience in government, environmental groups and consulting to the development of environmental policy. Since the late 1980s, François has specialized in the analysis and design of tools and approaches to integrate environmental and economic considerations in public policy.

In recent years, François has led major program evaluations (e.g., the application of strategic environmental assessment across the federal government) and strategic reviews (e.g., evaluation of the first 10 years of the Commission for Environmental Cooperation). He has helped several government departments design and implement their sustainable development strategies. François has planned and facilitated numerous internal government or multi-stakeholder workshops on a variety of environmental issues. He has also supported governmental and non-governmental organizations with strategic planning.

François Bregha has undertaken consulting assignments in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Jamaica and Mexico as well as Canada. He has published a book and two dozen articles on sustainable development, energy issues, northern development, international development and environmental policy, as well as having contributed to many commissioned reports on every aspect of environmental management and protection. François is fluently bilingual in French and English and speaks Spanish at an intermediate level.

Alison Kerry, M.Sc., CMC

Kerry is an independent consultant and President of Environmental and Management Consulting, incorporated in 1998, who works frequently with Stratos to conduct science-based program evaluations for the Government of Canada.  Alison has been providing consulting services to the private sector and Canadian government since 1988.  Following a successful career with a major environmental and engineering consulting company, Ms. Kerry participated in the Interchange Program of the federal government, where she gained extensive experience in the workings and evaluation requirements of the federal government as a Senior Evaluation Officer.  A highly skilled interviewer, communicator and analyst, she now specializes in the areas of program evaluation, results-based planning and reporting, and science and policy analysis.

Alison has conducted close to 30 evaluations on a range of programs, and has worked extensively with Stratos as part of the senior management team for the evaluations of the Natural Health Products Program, Strategic Environmental Assessment, the Canadian Shellfish Sanitation Program, the Canadian Environmental Protection Act; the Species at Risk Act, the Habitat Stewardship Program, the Wildlife Habitat Canada Conservation Stamp Program, and Border Air Quality Programs.  She has also worked with science and laboratory managers to improve organizational performance, address resource challenges and assess alternative delivery options.

Alison has worked internationally in Nigeria and the Caribbean on climate change capacity development projects and worked across Canada on climate change public outreach.  She is a Certified Management Consultant, member of the Canadian Evaluation Society and founding member of the Environmental Evaluator’s Network in Canada.

Greta Raymond, MPH, ICD.D

Greta is an experienced environment, health and safety and human resources professional with many years in the oil and gas industry, most recently as Vice President Environment, Safety and Social Responsibility with Petro-Canada. She has held global responsibility for environment, health, employee assistance programs, safety, aboriginal affairs, security, stakeholder relations, emergency response and crisis management as well as corporate responsibility.   She has 7 years experience in Human Resources including 5 years as Vice President responsible for HR service delivery globally.   Greta is currently the chair of the board of CAWST, a non profit that brings clean water to the very poor in 53 countries around the world.
