Barb is an experienced facilitator, motivational team leader, creative problem-solver and seasoned sustainability consultant.
“What excites me is seeing people come together and be empowered to make thoughtful decisions -- decisions that allow them to take positive action, in particular around sustainability” says Barb.
Barb’s approach to group process facilitation is bold, creative and highly interactive. With over 20 years’ experience, Barb has lead multi-interest sessions for international and domestic government meetings, cross-Canada multi-stakeholder dialogues on challenging themes, strategic and work planning sessions, large workshops and conferences, as well as corporate retreats.
She works closely with organizations to better understand their internal cultural and organizational challenges, leaning on her problem-solving skills to co-create and implement effective solutions for these teams. She has also designed and instructed courses on an eclectic range of topics, including: team building, conflict resolution, human rights and security, auditing and verification, as well as environmental liabilities.
Barb is a Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF) with the International Association of Facilitators. She is also certified with Langevin Learning Services as an Instructional Designer/Developer.

As Director of Organizational Effectiveness at Stratos, Barb offers a unique combination of experience in both environment and natural resources management, complemented with deep expertise in engagement and group facilitation.
Barb specializes in designing and facilitating complex multi-stakeholder conversations using creative, meaningful and interactive engagement strategies and techniques. She is certified as a Professional Facilitator (CPF) with the International Association of Facilitators (IAF).
Barb is also certified with Langevin Learning Services as an Instructional Designer/Developer. She designs and delivers courses building on the principles of adult learning, focusing learners on developing the skills and knowledge to ultimately improve environmental and social performance.
Whether facilitating workshops, designing training, or helping organizations to be more effective, Barb works closely with clients to understand the specific organizational needs and challenges. Then, working side-by-side, she helps shape and support the implementation of solutions that at the end of the day help these organizations to have a more positive impact on the environment and communities in which they exist.
When not working, Barb keeps can be found either on her bike or cross-country skis traversing the region’s network of trails …. or you might find her puttering in her garden… or you might find her crafting some new pieces of art!
