From coast to coast to coast, Canada’s landscapes and seascapes are a source of pride. The need to protect this natural capital for future generations cannot be overstated. Stewarding natural capital to balance conservation with equitable and sustainable use supports livelihoods, as well as ecological, social and cultural outcomes.
At Stratos, we work within a diversity of organizations and interests to support effective conservation and sustainable use strategies. Our knowledge extends to marine and terrestrial conservation, nature-based climate solutions, fisheries and other working landscapes, and species at risk. We apply this knowledge and our expertise in facilitation, program review and design, risk management and strategy development to provide practical and actionable advice.
Canada’s ambitious conservation goals offer a unique opportunity to rethink conservation approaches. From small internal working groups through to national, multi-interest dialogues, we work alongside our clients, stakeholders and rightsholders to overcome challenges and build momentum for change in the conservation space. We are also energized when we can take these conversations a step further and provide strategic advice on how best to collaborate with others to shape and implement policy and program solutions that will balance different perspectives and priorities.
Stratos is also honoured to continue to work alongside Indigenous peoples and partners to support Indigenous-led conservation efforts, recognizing the role Indigenous peoples have played as stewards of lands and waters since time immemorial.
Stratos enabled our organization to successfully convene our national forum. Their focus on understanding the subject matter, forum participants and our needs enabled sound advice on preparations for and design of the forum, and ensured expert, responsive facilitation of the event itself. Stratos was an invaluable partner and critical to achieving our objectives and those of forum participants.”
We have come to appreciate the knowledge, expertise, and convening ability that Stratos brings to the federal and portfolio-specific reconciliation agenda. Our past projects together and others we have participated in have demonstrated how Stratos brings diverse people together, from both within and outside the federal family, to have hard discussions on complex issues in a safe space and in a culturally appropriate way. These skills are necessary tools for partners like Stratos if we are to advance reconciliation the right way in our portfolio and beyond.”
My varied experiences with Stratos over a period of more than 10 years have reflected among the most meaningful engagements that I have had with a third-party consulting firm. The expertise that Stratos has brought to our work has consistently demonstrated an above average level of insight and commitment, with many skilled professionals and a dedication to reaching meaningful outcomes.”
