
COURTNEY SQUIRES
Courtney Squires is a senior consultant and mining specialist at Stratos. Courtney is passionate about working with mining operations and their stakeholders to build practical, tailored sustainability strategies. Courtney has extensive experience in Canada’s north. She has experience implementing, impact benefit agreements, engaging Indigenous peoples, supporting capacity building initiatives, and developing socio-economic impact assessments.
Prior to joining Stratos, Courtney worked for Agnico Eagle’s Nunavut Division as a social performance specialist, with a focus on managing and implementing the Inuit Impact Benefit Agreements (IIBAs) in collaboration with the regional Inuit Association. Prior to that, Courtney worked as a mine planning engineer at Agnico Eagle’s Meadowbank Operation. Courtney’s unique background provides her with a broad understanding of both technical and non-technical mining processes.
Courtney holds a Bachelor of Science Mining Engineering from Queen’s University and is a licensed Professional Engineer of Ontario. Outside of work, Courtney enjoys horse-back riding and travelling.
