
GENEVIEVE DONIN
Genevieve joined Stratos in 2020 as a consultant. She works in collaboration with executives, experts, and catalyzers of change on projects throughout the full lifecycle of natural resource stewardship. Genevieve is an intuitive listener and analytical thinker who cares deeply about the varied relationships people hold with the land.
As part of the convening, engagement, and facilitation team at Stratos, Genevieve brings valued organizational and writing skills when planning and reporting on multi-interest rightsholder and stakeholder engagement sessions. Genevieve has supported engagements for multiple clients, including the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Environment and Climate Change Canada, and the World Wildlife Fund. She also provides ongoing secretariat support to the Mining Association of Canada’s Community of Interest Advisory Panel.
Before joining Stratos, Genevieve worked at the Smart Prosperity Institute, a national research network and policy think tank, where she contributed to a growing body of grey literature on the role of primary resources in a future circular economy. Through this work, Genevieve delivered specialized content from plain language summaries to detailed reports.
Genevieve speaks French and Spanish and holds a Master of Science in Environmental Sustainability and a Bachelor of Social Science, International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa. Her Master’s research evaluated integrated fisheries management plans across socio-economic themes and the implications of treaties on the allocation of Pacific salmon. Genevieve is a PADI certified rescue diver with over 60 dives logged underwater and remains passionate about working with clients in the fisheries and oceans space.
